Dspin 540

Think this is possible? I was fucking around on my skates one day on the quarter pipe and I came close to killing myself and possibly landing a d5? (I was attempting flares but I kept spinning a 540 instead of a 180 backflip) Anyway it kinda went like this, spun an off axis bakwards rotating 540, when my body came around I was sorta upside down and just threw in like a quarter/half front flip to bring my feet around. If I did that on a ramp isnt that kinda like a d7 but without the extra 180?

*MW_Rep Im not boasting. I didnt really even come close to landing this Im just wondering some things, although I watched the tape of it and Im not completely off base. Im also avoiding writing a paper for journalism so Im posting all over the place and just going on and on.

sort of an underflip...its not really a dspin...its really weird...its not really a dspin5...u can sorta do it though

Its true..I know someone who cant to a lincoln 180 so they do D spin 540, it almost looks the same.

think about it.. just dont come out of the d spin facing foward.. it is definatly possble and it doesnt look like and underflip at all

its kinda like that overflip looks like a misty...personally I think a dspin 5 now that I think about it is a corked flair

yea dude ... an underflip has a total rotation of like 180 degrees while this d-spin 5 of yours is a 540... where does the extre 3 come outta ?

it would prolly be an uderflip or flair.... but those already have names, i don't think we need some more....... then backflips could be d-spin 360s if u think about it.

Ok, You're all a little of base here. A d-540 is sort of possible but only in the quater pipe. an underflip is a backwards looking frontflip 360- not switch- but as you go off the jump you look backwards as you flip.

I dont see how a dspin 5 is possible. To me it just doesnt exist. If a dspin is a off axis three to back then you have 360 degrees of rotation in the spin and 360 degrees more rotation in the backflip. Adding that together makes 7. If you do less rotating while keeping the trick the same you would either land on your head, im thinking, or you would be doing a 180 then frontflip, hence and underflip.

This goes for that trick too that ive heard of where someone did an off axis 540 into a frontflip and that was called a dspin 900. It cant be though, because it is a different looking trick, however, if you do the dspin 7 and add an extra 180 that is what a dspin nine is. Just like you can do rodeo fives and add that 180 to make em 7s.

I know that its just names and stuff, but we have to get this stuff somewhat right. You cant just say everytime ' oh look that guy did a flip thing and spinned a bit while grabbing that one part of the ski.' The creators of JMMT would have had a hell of a time then.

One of my friends was doing something that looked like a D5. It was a d-spin type rotation, but he was coming out of it at 5. (ductapeboy)

I dunno, I didn't think they were possible, but I swear I saw it.

an underflip is not a straight up 90 lincoln 90. that is a flair dude. it is super corked and blended so that it is similar to the rotation of a D spin 540.... or maybe a really well blended 180 to late front. yea it is close to a d spin 540.... closer to a dspin 5 than a straight up 90 lincoln 90. I think that a D 5 and an underflip are too close to deserve differnt names - and since the underflip has a name and the D 5 is 'impossible' than I say we just call them underflips to make it easier.
or even beter just call them 540s.

Ok, i haven't been REALLY paying attention to this thread because nobody ever agrees on this stuff so it's usually kinda useless. BUT last night on the diving board a friend of mine was throwing a trick that i'm not too sure what it is..here's what he does...but i'm not SURE this is exactly it...it's hard to see it.

He jumps, spins fast, 360 or 540 parallel to the water, head towards the board, stops the rotation, does a backflip, landing backwards.

The trick is fast and hard to see...but i'm pretty sure that's what it is. Any ideas?
