I went and saw the movie tonight; pretty powerful message, a must see for our generation (or atleast for those of you who can go see it without your parents). It's not an enjoyable movie because it's based on real events but it needs to be seen, so make sure you check it out.
i dunno the movie is kinda fucked up. It portrayed the extremests from each side as the same, sortof "right" but didnt give a really accurate background for people who don't know a lot about what happened.
thats kinda why you need to see it. you'll understand what's goin on out there, it sheds light on a different side of life that we have never really had to deal with.
really good movie. The only complaint I can point out is that its almost 3hrs long. If they coulda somehow cut out 45mins of it w/o losing anything valuable, it'd be a GREAT movie. But still really good and worth seeing, especially if u like long movies. I just dont have the attention-span to sit through a 3hr movie, no matter how good it is.
i read the book Vengence which is what the movie is based on. like its all based on 72 but the book was written in 82 or something...adn its really sick. im going to themovie tonight.
saw it the other day pretty powerfull msg. and it looks by the ways things are now over there that it wont get better soon. especially if the US keep fueling weapons into the situation
lol dude i hate to say it but there were weapons before we got there and there will be plenty of weapons after we leave... atleast this time there's fighting on both sides of the conflict, not just genocide... People have been fighting in that region for thousands of years and thinking that if the US leaves will stop the fighting is simply an extremely uneducated theory. Nevertheless, the movie does a very good job portraying the events from a tragic view and not some kind of action movie. Spielberg still seems to have it
i never said the US leaving would stop the fighting thats a riddiculous statement. however the US by giving arms to isral made the whole conflict allought worse in that the palistinians had to resort to suicide bombings in order to keep up with the might of the israli army that s now bombing them from air strikes, and giving them the technology to take a palistinian leader at the press of a button.
Fuck that, it all began with the allies actually forming a country (Israel) within a previously existing country (Palestine) in 1949 on the sole basis of some ridiculous god-given right to the land that the jews claimed, of which both religions share...but at the time, everyone pitied the jews situation since they'd literally been uprooted out of European society, hence everyone was on their side, Palestine had no say in the matter...since the allies couldn't be fucked resettling the jews in Europe, they just went and formed israel, and what a good move that was
uhhh it happened long before that my friend. There were some small wars a looooong time ago... Maybe you know something about them? The crusades? As long as people inhabit that region, people will fight. Simple as that.
two religeons share the same sacred sights for diferent reasons there will allways be some wars in that area. and involvement from other countries favoring one side just escalates the situation
I just watched it, and although I'd have to qualify it as a great movie, damn, is it shaking.
Left me sitting with a bitter taste in my mouth...
If it wasn't inspired by real facts it wouldn't be as powerful, but it also helps you understand what terrorism is like nowadays.
Strongly recommended, not for the faint of hear, this is scarier, way scarier than any scary movie that has ever come out of this world...
It was deffinatly a movie I liked but not a enjoyable movie. For those of you who dont get what I'm saing I'll be a little clearer. It isnt a feel good movie, but the message it delivers is clear and I think its a message that people should know. For those of you who didnt watch it untill the end I strongly sugest that you do, its worth it
Loved the movie. went with my principal and some teammates of mine whrn we went to hawaii for vollleyball. the principal and i were the only ones that liked it, we both enjoy history. very good seen it 3 times since
yeah, definitely a moving movie, really gets you thinking, which i personally think more movies should, there are lots of good movies out, it just takes more and more work to find them
