the friend, a girl, who you are really close to (not dating or anything). you get along with her better than you get along with any other girls but you dont have the balls to ask her out cuz your afraid of ruining your friendship. im in that situation right now and it sucks ass.

for the past 2 years man. aparently i am the closest guy to her, and i know absoulutly everything about her, but yet she still has boyfriends. i think its the distance thing tho, she goes to a different school, only 20 minutes away, but i met her at one of my dirtbike races. i really cant do anything about the just friends thing now tho cas i dont have a car to hang out with her, but we still hang like once every week, and then at all my races.

i have a really good guy friend and he and i are super close. i wish he would have made a move to see how it went, but he never did. then he moved to school (Stanford University) for the summer so he could practice with their summer water polo team. so I'd say go for it, I wish Chris had.

while I'm not to upset about losing her as a friend (we weren' stuper close, we just had a real connection that I never had with anyone else and while dating her I learned a LOT about her that I didn't like, hence things not worling out), you may be.

I was dating a girl for a while in a prettyy serious relationship...when we broke up we got a lot closer..and now we are best friends...i still have feelings for her as more than friends and i want to date her again but i dont think she likes me in the same way i look at her...man i say go for it...i know what its like to best friends with a girl and i know its like to be their girlfriend...they both have their benifits and if u brake up and u were that close to start with than nothing should change...step it upe and take the chance.

And i have been there. I never did make a move though. I had really good reasons why not to make a move, but i always think back and try and see how i could have played my cards diffrently from the beginning. But hindsight is 20/20 and forsight is almost blind. Its just the way life goes and you gotta accept it and keep going. Be thankful for what you have, a friendship, a chance at something more... I have always been a big advocate of risktakeing. If you dont risk anything, you will gain nothing. If you risk the loss of something dear to you (like the frienship) you might gain something far more rewarding in return. But you never know till after.

You gotta be the seed growing so that it can feel the sun on its leaves and the cool moist dirt in its roots, risking being eaten or stepted on. You cant let yourself stay the seed thats too afraid to grow, never feels the sun on its leaves of the cool moist dirt in its roots, and in the end gets eaten by a crow.

Have any of you guys heard of ladder theory?

Part of it is that guys have one "ladder" for female friends (girls they'd like to fuck) while girls have two (guys they'd like to fuck and the dreaded "friend" category). So, basically, a guy will never actively engage in friendship with a girl without also wanting to fuck her.

This is a little bleak and depressing, but I think it's true. Personally, I know I try harder to spend with girls that I find attractive (vs girls I don't find attractive), and I see other guys acting in the same way. I don't think any straight guy anywhere has a friendship with a girl with no sexual undertones (this makes me wonder about a few of my friends that happen to be gay... hmmmm).

We also manipulate/maneuver social situations to get closer to the ladies... that's pretty obvious, though.

For example, I ended up with the friends I have now partly (not entirely, but it helped) because I was chasing a girl (who I never got, but I'm still friends with her...). I really feel like a complete asshole for writing that last sentence, but it's true.

So I think you guys should go out there and speak your minds. It might mean drama down the line, but who cares? If you break up and "stay friends," a) it was probably her idea and b) you'll still want to fuck her, so things never really changed, did they? And if you end up being the one to break it off, you'll probably wonder why you liked that bitch in the first place. Geez.

Hahahaha, you have no idea. I had a best friend in college, a girl who was always in relationship trouble. She cried a lot and always seemed to be in trouble. One night we got really, really drunk and...yep. Then it happened again and again. Then I said, OK that's enough. But she didn't want to stop, so I said I could call it rape if she made moves on me again. Then she cried a lot. Now we arent friends, but it was worth it for the stories.

i have this guy friend. hes my best friend. and we've actually been best friends since he was born (16 years). we fight. but we get over it. we travel together. were the best of best friends. sometimes we joke about what it would be like if we were together, or if we were married or something. im closer with him even after 16 years of being best freinds, than i have ever been with with anyone else. hes always there for me, and vice versa. if one of us as a problem, the other one is there. my ex boyfriend always thought there was something going on between us, but there never has been. were just best friends. but sometimes i think about the future. who knows where we'll end up. ive heard that you end up marrying your best friend of the opposite sex. but who knows.
im saying that if youre friends with someone, and you have that "Special sometthing", then go for it. chances are they want it too. esp if your really close/ good friends with them. you kno alot about each other

u made me realize something...i have been best friends with this girl ever since we broke up...i have always wanted to get back togethor with her but now i realize I like what we have and i dont want it to change....i feel much better about my whole situation now..thanks
