shes soo full of shit its unbelieveable and it really bothers me that she got a deal because in the end shes just as guilty as her husband but hes in for life and shes out unconditionally and i guess if you really wanted to you could vouch for the you do the crime you do the time rule and she did her time without asking for an appeal or parole or something but still when it comes down to it shes a murderer and a rapist and she shouldnt be back in the streets. i heard though that there were a few other missing girls and theyre hoping to pin these on her so that they can reconvict her and put her back in for life. im hoping that will happen. one less creepy person on canada's streets

I mean, yah its shitty that she got off when she did. But thats the prosecutions fault. She did the time we gave her and we dont really have a right to send her back just because we change our mind. i am merciless. anyone who does that kind of shit is worthy of nothing but suffering and pain in my opinion. and i do think that killing a killer is different than doing the shit she did. not that it's justified... it is in my mind, but i realize that killing is killing... but shit... that woman is a horrendous and should not be free on any terms.

yah, but there isnt shit all that can legaly be done about it because the crown fucked up. The second we start to throw people in jail on suspission of possible commiting a crime - with out any substantial proof- is the second that Im going to get the hell out of this country.

I can't believe that they're making a movie about her and Bernardo. First off, it is incredibly disrespectful to the French and Mahaffy families. Secondly, it's turning Homolka into a legend. Maybe if I can commit a crime as horrific and disgusting as that then they'll make a movie about me too. It's only encouraging the kinds of psychopaths that commit crimes to become famous.

^ yeah its the double jeopardy thing right they gave her her sentence before they saw the videotapes and therefore they couldn't change it so they fucked up and since we live in a democratic society the crown or whoever cant jsut be like eyah were changing this because we feel its right and sentence her to life

its not surprising they are making a movie, theyve made movies on other cases....i forget the names, kids whove been beaten based on race, or sexuality.

but yea. i agree with apple, the case was sooo fucked up. a lawyer i work with was telling me about everything in the case, hes followed it since it happened, the prosecution screwed up royally.

Theres hundreds of people who commit the same crime as her - or much worse - in Canada alone every year. The only reason you or I even know her name is because someone decided to turn it into a big media farce some years ago.

Don't misunderstand me. What she did is terribly wrong, but why is there so little concern among people about the people who live in the country who have do the same and far, far worse? Its like she's a movie star, not a criminal.

the Defence attorney should be sitting in jail rotting along with bernardo seeing as he knew about the tapes before they were released.

Unfortunately, she has every right to return to society. She paid her dues (however short they were) and now she deserves to be released.

The scary this is that she got a degree in psychology while she was in prison, so now she knows how to manipulate people even better than before.

If she doesn't change her appearance reallllllly well and lays low for a long time she's as good as dead already.

So here is the funny thing about her going on the CBC.... I report on CBC Ottawa said that just about everyone in every province hates her right now, except in Quebec because she did the interview for a quebec branch of the CBC and did it in french. The CBC Ottawa went so far as to say her interview created some sympathy and support among french canadians.

That is totaly fucked up.

I wonder if they paid her for the interview.

She seems to be pulling an Eric Cartmen... "this is the best themepark ever and YOU cant come!!" only its more like she is saying "this is the biggest story right now... and YOU cant have it!"
