Ok i need HELP

im starting to learn how to use adobe premiere pro 1.5 right now and im working on a video for school. so i really need to find out how to put text into the video like subtitles but i cant find out how to do it. I have a book on premiere that ive searched through and ive searched through the premiere help thing and i still cant find it. so if anyone can help me that would be fantastic.

Ya thats right, then to get it in your media bin you just save it and it will show up there. After that you just treat it as another video layer.

well if ur supposed to do it in the title maker thing then ive got absolutely no idea how to do it. I know how to make rolls and crawls but i dont know how to get them to go over video while it's still playing

You make the background transparent in the title maker if it doesnt already do that.
Then you just put the title on a higher video track than the footage you are laying it over.

ok im bringing this thread back because i need help again. Is there an effect in premiere that i can add to a clip to make it look like old film. They have an effect like this in windows movie maker, but im wondering if they have one in premiere?

yep...i have another question. I rceated a title in after effects and made it into a .avi clip, then i imported it into premiere and everything works fine. Even the preview works. but then i drag it into the timeline and play it it wont show. its just black. any help?
