GPSYfeelin CUT â„– 19 - swedish meatballs

by gpsyfeelin
Mar 2011 - 695 views

GPSY FEELIN - GONZO (full movie)

by gpsyfeelin
Nov 2011 - 5.1K views

GONZO is the new ski flick produced by the french ski movie production, GPSY Feelin. You?ll find behind this short film the motivation of a solid crew of childhood friends and their efforts throughout 10/11 winter to bring you today their third film. More than a title the word « gonzo » hides a story. Hunter S. Thompson was the journalist who invented the journalistic style known as « gonzo » which consists of an ultra-subjective investigation made up of stories told in first person narrative. His particularity was informing the reader of the nature and intensity of a given fact, even if doing so required him to deform this reality to a certain extent, which he did by exploiting the visual and by choosing an angle which was creatively sarcastic. His work is the inspiration behind this film, a tribute to this reactionary writer and adventurer who dedicated his life to his work and to scandal, shock value and protest before finally putting an end to his life in February 2005. The idea behind this project was to look at our lives and life style, at our passion and what makes up our little world with a critical eye, to evoke a few home truths about the economics behind the cult system and at the real issues as they stand today. Let yourself be guided by the film?s inner voice, accompanied by instrumental music in keeping with the simplicity of images which are a glimpse of skiing as we see it and of the lifestyle we cherish...not to mention a few sensual curves that have nothing to do with mountains !!

GPSYfeelin CUT N°30 Omnibus projet Amérique du Sud

by gpsyfeelin
Dec 2011 - 1.6K views

Gpsy Feelin invite you to join them on an epic adventure to Chile and Argentina, filmed during the summer of 2011.    The story is simple. With the summer in the Alps in full effect, Leo Taillefer was working hard to fund his winter season, dreaming constantly of fresh powder and distant horizons...   After some discussion with Robin Romera, an avid photographer and skier, together they concocted a  plan for a last-minute trip to South America. After very little preparation, and in a whirlwind of intense enthusiasm and eager anticipation, their journey began. Upon arriving in Santiago, Leo and Robin met two very good friends of theirs, Franck Bigourdan and Simon Lagran, and a freakin? awesome foursome was born. Their ambitions were clear from the start : ride hard and pursue the powder. Their quest to conquer South America and its monstrous mountain range, The Andes, had begun. So began two months of shooting in Chile and Argentina. They hit most of the major spots including El Colorado, Portillo, Las Lenas, Barrilotche, Chapelco and Thermas de Chilian... The beauty of each spot was breathtaking and whether it was good fortune or just good timing, the snow conditions were phenomenal... But that's quite enough talk; the images speak for themselves.   Here are some of the best moments of an incredible journey... ENJOY!

GPSY FEELIN - T.A.Z. (Full Movie)

by gpsyfeelin
Nov 2012 - 733 views

For their fourth film, the Gpsy Feelin crew continue their philosophising regarding the lot of the contemporary rider ensconced in a society and a system that, far from promoting his fulfilment, gnaw away at him from without with determination. Whence the need to get together in our own little bubble to dream up a world vaccinated against the hardships of reality. Peter Lambron Wilson aka Hakim Bey, coined the phrase T.A.Z. (Temporary Autonomous Zone) in an essay promoting fuzzy insurrectionism (yes! A new ism!) carrying the seeds of a philosophy of protest fuelled uprising. The Gpsy's film couples skiing with T.A.Z. via the intermediary of a poetic, almost oniric, universe. A state of stasis, a "normal life", on stand-by, dancing to the rhythm set by the winter and the snow. A winter during which each session becomes one of these autonomous temporal zones. As a passion and outlet, skiing becomes a means of uniting people on a human scale. However, the decision to take steps to enter an autonomous temporal zone reveals a commitment to wage war on the established order. To quote Mr Bey, this search for freedom is pursued in "an epoch where speed and 'merchandise fetishism' have created a tyrannical false unity which tends to blur the individual and confound cultural diversity. This paradox creates 'gypsies', psychic travellers motivated by desire and curiosity, superficially loyal wanderers, indifferent to time and place and in search of diversity and adventure." Of course, for all those who couldn't care less about any profound message that a ski film may convey there is also plenty of good skiing and great stunts. Herr Taillefer would have like something a little more explosive but we don?t always get what we want! Réalisation: Yann Barthelemy / Caméras: Yann Barthelemy, Léo Taillefer, Arthur Giraud / Planchistes: Julien Lange, Flo Bastien, P-A Chedal, Léo Taillefer, Yann Barthelemy and friends / Photos: Fab Wittner / Durée: 29 minutes / Sponsors: Val d'Isère, STVI, Line, Planks, Orage and Coreupt.

GPSY Feelin CUT N°38 - Revelstoke

May 2013 - 644 views
