Scott is back with a whole new lineup of freestyle-inspired skis, ranging from 88 to 116mm. The new SEA ski collection brings a new spirit to the brand's lineup, aimed at skiers looking for fun, no matter the snow or weather conditions. Scott calls them “playful freeride skis”.
We're stoked to see them returning to the freestyle space because Scott has always been a big player in the game. They had the first Tom Wallisch pro model, remember? Developed in close collaboration with Parkin Costain, the SEA 116 and SEA 108 represent the true spirit of the SEA ski collection: poppy, playful, and ready to shine in big mountain and freeride terrain. The SEA 98 takes the same DNA as its big siblings, with the same versatility and fun style, suited to everyday use inbounds at the resort. We had all three skis out at our ski test at Sunshine Village and they got great feedback from our testers, with both the 116 and 108 winning awards.
The SEA line is a unique re-entry into the Newschoolers ski space. It’s not what other brands have done, which is to come back with a fully-fledged freestyle line. Where the skis work best is the in-between space between backcountry freestyle and freeride that a LOT of buyers occupy. If you’re the kind of skier who might throw a three or a backflip now and again but is mostly skiing a bit of everything, these skis are a great option. Designed for both outbound and inbound skiing, all the SEA skis are accessible, and easy to maneuver, yet remain surprisingly damp and chargeable for how soft the noses feel upon hand flexing. We have full reviews of all the skis below.
Alongside the SEA series launch, Scott has also dropped a line of more relaxed fitting outerwear, the Vertic Ripstop range which is designed to match the demands of the SEA skier. It does everything and does it with aplomb. And of course, they continue to bring some of the best accessories on the market to the plate. Scott's goggles, sunnies, poles, and in particular, their avalanche bags are some of the very best.
The Scott Sea 108 ski embodies the very essence of backcountry freestyle skiing, designed for skiers like Parkin Costain who seek freedom and creativity away from groomed runs. This pair of skis is the key to limitless fun, combining performance and innovation to meet the demands of the wildest terrains. The SEA range …
