        Mens Marmot Freerider Jacket

        Color: Atomic Blue
        Size: Large
        Year: 2016

        I am: 5'10", 195 lbs

        Pricing

$475.00USD on Marmot.com but you can often find it on other sites for much less. I found mine on REI for $284.66USD and after shipping, tax, etc. the total came out to $304.66USD. Well worth the cost either way.

        Material and Quality

First impressions were great. Jacket fit like it was meant for me and the color was almost exactly what i saw on my screen when I ordered. There were no loose threads and It came out of the package neatly folded, even after its trip through the mail. The first thing I did when I got it on was run my sleeve under my kitchen sink. The 2-layer Gore-Tex beaded the water off and wasn't even wet when I finished. The seams and zippers are fully taped so no water will be getting in there. The zippers had a really good feel, They're not too hard to open with gloves on but they're not going to get stuck or fall open. The inside is a mix of a micro-fiber like fleecy material and a soft nylon. Its hard to describe but its comfortable and it should definitely hold up to some wear and tear. The zippered neck gusset also allowed me to get my hood over my helmet without unzipping the jacket, which is great for colder days. Just as a side note, This jacket does seem like its a little bit warmer than a standard shell.

I was able to find all of these features except for the zip-off powder skirt on my jacket. Not sure if it doesn't have it or theres something blatantly obvious I managed to miss. Either way, Its not a huge deal for me. All of these features do their job perfectly well. I'm not going to get into details because they're pretty self explanatory, but so far no complaints.

Overall an excellent jacket and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
