I have a limited amount of days on these beasts and I'm not entirely sure who/what they are actually made for. I know of a few people who have the 186 and love them. The 196 on the other hand... Oh man.
Steep, open, high speed turns are awesome on these beasts but get into the tight trees and you're asking to eat wood. I have made them work in the tightest of trees, but it took all of my effort to do so. Also - being so stiff and long, if you stop paying attention while riding these beasts, they will throw you in the backseat so fast.
I put Dukes on them but have yet to test out their uphill ability (given their weight, I can only assume they aren't going to be great for any real distance).
Overall, I'd say they would be great for anyone who is a solid skier who is tall, heavy, and aggressive. If you are under 6', under 190lbs, and spend most of your time in the trees, do not get the 196, they will eat you up and spit you out.
