After a trip to Central America with friend Kyler Cooley in early December the two of us returned to Salt Lake City with high hopes of putting the powder skis on and getting that similar “surfing” phenomenon we found in Nicragaua and Costa Rica.  Sadly it took nearly three weeks to get that floating, weightless feeling.  With the northwest stealing the majority of the snow, Utah finally got a late Christmas present when Alta received 20 inches of the “the greatest snow on earth” earlier this week.

I’ve spent the past few days skiing that powder with Kyler and Saga’s own Andy Mallett.  The cold weather kept most of the tourists in the lodge leaving us plenty of soft snow for us and our friends.  I’ll let the picture below tell the rest of the story.  I am off to film with Saga’s park specialists the next couple of days so hopefully we can get a quick edit up to keep you guys occupied when not on the mountain.  Enjoy…
