TELUS Triple Challenge Ski & Snowboard Festival Collingwood, March 2007 – The TELUS Triple Challenge, March 8th -10th is one of Canada’s largest ski and snowboard festivals which will see skiers, snowboarders and enthusiasts from across Ontario and the rest of Canada gather at Blue Mountain Resort. This intense competition will feature a collection of events including half-pipe, slope style, rail jam and Mars big air competitions, plus a variety of live performances on the Main Stage by Montréal’s renowned DJ Champion and popular bands, The Weybourne Project and The Quarry. A host of events including the half pipe, slope style, rail jam and Mars big air competitions will showcase skiing and snowboarding in truly unique and inspirational forms. Throughout the three day festival, some of the world’s top professional skiers and snowboarders will battle it out in pursuit of $40,000 in cash and prizes. Top competitors will be pre-qualified to contend in the Friday night Pro Rail Jam. Mars Big Air participants will start off with an invitational day time qualifier on Saturday with the highest scoring competitors advancing to a spectacular night time final and super final. Amongst a full agenda of ski and snowboard competitions , events can be viewed from the heated Roof Top Coors Light beer garden, located at the hillside exit of Grand Central Lodge for both Friday and Saturday. Come out for when the TELUS Triple Challenge presents the biggest free outdoor concert of the year - a complete celebration of mountain culture. The Main Stage starts to rock at 1:00 p.m. Saturday with the Weybourne Project, followed by The Quarry at 2:00 p.m. Feature entertainer DJ Champion is set to take the stage, at 7:00 p.m. and will continue the show after-hours at the Coors Light After Party inside the Grand Central Lodge. DJ Champion is recognized amongst Canadian and European fans for his unique concoction of rockin’ guitars, techno beats, incredible vocals and contagious melodies. Athletes may register Thursday, March 8th and Friday, March 9th in Cascade at the Grand Central Lodge. The entry fee is $40.00 per contest. Discounted lift tickets will be available to competitors with proof of registration in event. Please note: Competitors under 18 years of age will need a guardian to sign their waiver and helmets are mandatory. The competition kicks off Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Badlands Terrain Park with the Half- pipe qualifier. .
