This past weekend saw a busy time in the small town of Rossland as the 113th winter carnival took place.  This year's carnival also shared the spotlight with the 2010 Canadian Freeski Championship, Blizzard Music Fest, a visit from Rick Mercer and the Olympic torch, lots going on.

Included in the festivities was the Game Rail jam hosted by Rossvegas Boardshop.  This is a great comp that started of as a big air comp down Queen Street of Rossland first brought about by former Rossland resident Jeff Schmuck.  After slow snow and warm weather teh format was changed into a block long rail jam, with rails being provided by Red Mtn. Resort

Next weekend the Freeski Academy heads to Fernie for the Snickers Junior Freeski Challenge.
