Well, it felt good to finally get back out on the slopes for the first time of the 2010-2011 season. However, i was expecting better from Boston Mills. Like every opening day, it was crowded, but thats not what disappointed me. The park was just pitiful, though. When there's only one feature that is even worth trying, you know something is wrong. Let me describe the park for you: (4 total features)- A double barrel flat rail with only half of a ramp on to it (but the rail was ridiculously far away); A Down-T rail with only half of a ramp too which was also really far and really high; a flat box but was ruined with a stupid pipe that nobody even attempted; and two flat bars put right after each other (the most popular feature). So, I'd have to give the opening day park a 2 or 3 out of 10 stars. I just keep wondering what goes on through the park crew's mind when they plan out all of this stuff. Since the flat bars were the most popular feature there, it produced a huge crowd right before it waiting to try it. I didn't really feel like waiting 20 minutes just to hit something like that. But what pissed me off the most was the waste of a perfectly good box. Instead of a ramp onto it, they put a small pipe (at almost a 90 degree angle) to get onto the box. Since I'm a skier, I wasn't really in the mood for smashing my nuts on opening day. Anyways, my group of skiers and I went over to the "backcountry" part of the resort and hit a few tiny jumps over there. Maybe next years opening day will be better. I'll just wait till hopefully next weekend when Brandywine opens up because thats where the real park is. Happy Skiing!TheShealyWord
