Faction Rider, Drew Petersen, dens us an update from SIA and Powder:

I have had a ton of fun skiing over the past two weeks. Two weeks ago on January 22nd we had a great powder day at A-Basin. This was one of my better days of the season, thus far. I skied with Darrell Haggard for a few laps in the morning, before meeting up with the Team Summit Big Mountain Team. I also got a few good shots on my GoPro from this day; however, I do not have enough shots to make another edit yet. I will hopefully be able to put together a quick one soon. The following day on Sunday was a bluebird powder day, but I was too sick to get out of bed. I missed a great day, but ended up being pretty sick with strep throat.

On that Saturday, the 29th, I went down to Denver for the SIA Snow Show. My friend and teammate Ian Borgeson came along with me. We checked out next year’s gear and talked with our sponsors. It was a good experience. Here is a shot of me that the Hestra team manager took at the Hestra Gloves booth. Check out some of next year’s gloves in the background!

Next year’s gear is looking sweet. Faction Skis has a new technology called STP where there is literally a wave in the wood core. This cuts down on weight without compromising torsional rigidity. Be sure to check it out!

I have been doing some great training in preparation for the upcoming competition season. The first event on The North Face Junior Freeskiing Tour is the US Extreme Freeskiing Junior Championships in Crested Butte, Colorado. This competition is very soon, February 14-16. Hopefully my training pays off. Thanks for reading, and have a great day skiing.

It was great to meet everyone at SIA last week. Thanks for everything!
