Our presale for the 2009-2010 season will end at 11:59 PM, September

30th, 2009.  At that point, prices will go back to retail pricing.  So

get in on our presale while you can still save $150 per pair.   Sorry

to be posting this a little bit late.  We’ve just been very busy.

In the meantime, I wanted to provide a

brief update about what we have been up to.  We were able to acquire a

new ski press to handle our smaller sizes and are working on getting a

new ski press for the longer skis.  We are done ripping and trimming

cores and will start shaping and profiling as soon as our new shaper

cutters arrive on Friday.  It actually arrived today, but unfortunately

was the wrong cutter,  so it will be a few more days before we start

shaping.

We also brought on another full-time

employee, Rowen Tych, who should be down here from Seattle in early

October to help ensure our production schedule continues on track.

Here are a few photos of the shop.

Sam using "stick" - the best tool ever since "the persuader" (aka hand mallet necessary for ski press manufacturing).

New Plastic Wall - while not perfect, it will at least help to keep out as much dust as possible.

Sam rocking out with some core material.

Sam ripping some cores on the table saw.

Cores waiting to be shaped.

Sam and David helping to assemble one of our new ski presses. At least one more is in the works.

Almost done sealing off the composite/layup room from the wood processing/finishing room

Strip door #1 - Just made with 6 mil plastic. A lot cheaper than real vinyl strip doors.

From the inside.

Strip Door #2 from inside composite/layup room.

To ensure that we don't run into the table on the inside of the strip door, we added a little reminder of where not to walk.

Also put our new hotbox together.

Reflective material added.

Coming together.

Apparently our hotbox rolls on 22's.

Easily fits our 191cm skis.

Still

a bit more to do. We need to finish the double doors, receive and wire

up our strip heater, 6" fans, PID controller, and add a heat sink at

the bottom. Very excited for the results, though.

Again, the big news is that the presale

ends a week from today, Wednesday, September 30th, at 11:59 PM.  I will

likely post another update between now and then as we begin shaping

cores.  If you have any questions about our skis before the presale

runs out, Sam or I are more than happy to answer them.  Thanks!
