Until this week, snowfall in Utah this year has been a less than sub-par. The weather patterns seem to have shifted and we have been blessed with a week full of storms. This weekend is calling for multiple feet and it looks like next week is the same story. Hopefully our patience has paid off and we will have a strong second half in the Wasatch. Remember, with all this new snow comes avalanches. Blake and Jay triggered a beauty in the slackcountry of Brighton on Thursday morning. Everyone was OK but it was a solid reminder that the snowpack is fragile. Travel safely and make sure to have all the proper equipment: pack, shovel, beacon, probe.
