November 4th, 2002

It's the first week of November, and the snow is falling faster than the leaves. The bald summer tires on my Civic don't help the situation while I swerve my way from Ottawa to Mont Saint Sauveur in Quebec, the first hill to open in eastern Canada. We arrive at around noon, several hours behind schedule, and look at the beauty in front of us; TWO runs open!

Although just open (official opening date was October 31st), Sauveur had already crafted two fair size jumps, and even had a rail setup for the weekend. Definitely a sign of great things to come this season, from a hill already known as having one of the most complete terrain parks in the east.

Chris K O'Connell put together a little video showing the scene on the opening day:

Special thanks to Karina Pr鶯st for helping us out with lift tickets. See you at Sauveur!
