MARKER VÖLKL USA SIGNS GRETE ELIASSEN TO FREESKIING TEAM

Skier celebrates signing with medal at X Games 14

Lebanon, N.H. - (February 23, 2010) Grete Eliassen has signed with Marker-Völkl USA to exclusively use and endorse Völkl skis and Marker bindings. Just days after testing her new skis, Grete celebrated the signing by winning a bronze medal at the recent Winter X Games.

One of the most accomplished skiers in the world, Grete has excelled in many forms of the sport. After early success in racing, she began competing in and winning halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. Grete has won the U.S Open four times and has five X Games medals to her credit, including two Golds.

“I am very excited to be skiing with Marker & Völkl,” said Grete, “I have always thought that Marker & Völkl make great products, and I am especially excited to ski the rockered skis like the Kiku and Chopstick.”

In addition to competing, Grete also finds time to star in ski films, including Warren Miller’s Children of Winter and Yeah Dude and Ski Porn from Poorboyz Productions. She is currently working on her own film production entitled Say My Name.

“Any time you can add a skier of Grete’s caliber to your team, you do it,” said Chris Adams, Marker Völkl’s Team Manager. “We already had one of the best women’s teams around, but Grete just makes it better. I know she will be a great ambassador for our brand and we look forward to working with her.”

A Minnesota native, Grete spent part of her childhood in her father’s home country of Norway, where she was a member of the Norwegian Ski Team as a teenager. She now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Grete joins another recent addition, big mountain skier Ian McIntosh, on an already impressive Völkl-Marker Team for 2010: Ingrid Backstrom, Ashley Battersby, Jenn Berg, Ahmet Dadali, Ted Davenport, Liam Downey, Russ Henshaw, Dylan Hood, JF Houle, Jen Hudak, Jess McMillan, Matt Philippi, Tim Russell, Jessica Sobolowski, JP Solberg and Walter Wood.
