Three things that usually, sum up my first ski day of the Season:

1) Despite that I spent hours the night before, checking my gear, double-checking it and either forgetting something important (usually gloves) or breaking something—leaving me unable to do anything about it for the remainder of the day.

2) Spending all day climbing mountains with (almost) no snow, although snow was likely hidden somewhere beneath the mud, dirt and grass, that composed the majority of the runs I skied.

3) Getting over excited, leading me to proclaim it was one of the best first days I've ever had.
