International Freeski Film Festival announces Carte Blanche

Meeting of freeskiing’s most influential figures scheduled during 3rd annual IF3

IF3 is pleased to announce the addition of Carte Blanche: The Freeski Summit to its inaugural industry gathering on Sunday, September 20th 2009 in Montreal QC. The event, co-produced by IF3 with Origin Design + Communications, is an invitation-only summit of the freeski industry’s thought leaders, business vanguards and cultural icons. Freeskiing has emerged on the mainstream’s radar and Carte Blanche aims to be the guiding force to keeping it healthy and on target.

As its name suggests, Carte Blanche (translation: blank cheque) is intended to establish a new unrestricted, free-thinking authority that will collectively define and work to solve the issues facing the sport. Says Felix Rioux, IF3 founder, “For us, Carte Blanche represents an opportunity to look at the industry with a clean slate. It’s this kind of free thinking that we want IF3 to be associated with.”

The Summit is represented by leading freeski representatives from all aspects of the industry including professional athletes, event organizers, manufacturers, sponsors, marketers, retailers, filmmakers, photographers and media. The format for the event will be two panel discussions with an open forum for the audience to participate. MJ Legault, the principal at Origin’s Montreal office, says, “This will be an exciting event for the freeski industry and a great opportunity for us to have a real working session.”
