Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area in Bloomington Minnesota has officially set the record for the most ridiculous parking fee to vertical rise ratio in the world. With an astounding 175ft vertical drop they have decided to come up with a master plan of offering premium parking for a small fee of $20 a day. With a premium parking pass you can park where everyone has parked for free since Hyland's opening! This plan is intended to reduce traffic to their hill and piss off the dedicated local riders of the ski hill in order to suck revenue off of wealthy suburban kook squads and daddy’s money entrepreneurs.

Luckily for the riders who actually visit Hyland on a regular basis, there is a separate parking lot a half mile from the ski hill with a shuttle bus service that runs approximately every 25 minutes. However Hyland doesn’t necessarily have bad intentions, they just want to make their guests feel like they are going out west to ski by inconveniencing the living hell out of parking.

Luckily for the majority of the dedicated riders at hyland, they can get rides to the front of the hill from their mommies and daddies. If you are a dedicated rider that has to drive themselves, tough luck. You can choose to waste 25 minutes of your life each time you go skiing to wait for a slow shuttle service. Otherwise you can pay a slightly greater fee than most resorts out west would charge for parking.

Either way we can come to the consensus that Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area has definitely outdone themselves with innovative ways to suck money off of naive soccer moms and Maserati dads. Kudos to you Hyland for putting the west in the midwest!
