This Fourth of July, I spent my day in South Lake Tahoe with a good friend of mine, Jamie. While there were hundreds of people celebrating on the beaches, we had a casual day on her pier sipping some fun drink mixtures....sans alcohol. This little drink concoction we sipped during the fourth is something that I often slip into my daily routine, most of the time in the morning. Juice half a lemon or one whole lemon, add 1 Tbls. Organic raw apple cider vinegar, a little bit of honey or agave nectar, a dash of cayenne pepper, and some water. Voila! A healthy and tasty drink concoction to aid with digestion, clear skin, antioxidants, and even headaches...the list goes on. Certainly a great way to detox and feel a bit better after a BBQ. While this apple cider vinegar drink might take some time to get used to the taste, our other fun drink was easier to drink and more refreshing. Jamie had these awesome whole coconuts that she had purchased at the health food store in South Lake (I'm not sure if we have them here in Tahoe City). We chopped the tops off and pored the coconut water into a blender along with the pulp and added some lime. Coconut lime aide! This drink was my favorite out of the two. Put the lime in the coconut, you drink them both up! Enjoy.
