Today I woke up to 7 inches of snow.

My Xterra-

The View from Campus-

It was a good morning to say the least. I dragged myself to my 8am Constructucts of Sexuality recitation (topic today= fetishes), nearly killing myself on my roadbike, because well, road bikes and 7 inches of snow/icy roads don't mix with good results. I then went to my Marketing Research class and by the end of the class, what I had to do for the rest of my day was clear- it was time to ski.

Upon ariving back at my house one of my roommates already had his gear ready to go, so I loaded my stuff in with his and we went to A Basin. We picked up our friend Jen in Evergreen because her car had a dead battery, and then headed on to the Basin. Road conditions were sketch, but we got there without too much delay.

Loveland Pass along the way-

It was a great day to start the season. It was something like 16 degrees at the base with 5-8 inches of new snow. It kept snowing pretty much all day. Good times were had by all.

A few pics-

Jen is a very hardcore snowboarder. She can drop cornices and go inverted off of kickers with the best of em. However, I've slowly gotten to her after months and months of quiet coercion, I’ve convinced her to come over to our side of snowsports. She is getting a tele setup for this year, but was just learning on a spare pair of alpine skis for the day. In this picture, she is contemplating what the hell is on her feet.

AC ready to go-

And Me happy as hell to be back on skis-

It was so good to be back on skis/snow. There was a small park set up, but I didn’t bother with it, but it looked fun. Peace for now Newschoolers, the 06/07 season is officially underway.
