European Freeski Open by Swatch

Presents high level freeski sport in LAAX from March 3 to 6, 2010 – International champions including Virginie Faivre & Henrik Harlaut ready to compete – US band “Hockey” to perform live in concert.

(LAAX/SUI – February 1, 2010) – LAAX and its partners are looking forward to celebrate the 5th edition of the European flagship event with 250 riders competing for a prize-purse of US$ 50.000, with enthusiasted fans and rocking side-events. The European Freeski Open by Swatch 2010 are expecting ambitious newcomers and amateur riders as well as the world’s best freeskiers to perform on Crap Sogn Gion mountain.

Europe’s leading freestyle resort LAAX is offering best riding conditions in the 160 meter long superpipe and the challenging slopestyle course. On March 3 and 4, 2010 the European Freeski Open by Swatch will start with the open qualification rounds followed by the semi-finals and finals on March 5 and 6, 2010. International top riders from all over the globe including 2009 champions Virginie Faivre from Switzerland and Henrik Harlaut from Sweden, are already confirmed to compete in LAAX. After tricky performances on the mountain the final highlight of the 5th European Freeski Open by Swatch will be presented at the Riders Palace Club on Saturday night, March 6, 2010 with the live concert of the US dance-punk band “Hockey”.
