MOUNT HOOD, Ore. -- Rescuers pulled a skier off Mount Hood late Thursday after he fell into a crevasse.

Eric Ross Pollard, 19, was skiing with friends in an out-of-bounds area near Timberline's Palmer ski lift when he fell 80 feet.

The Welches man was apparently trying to complete a jump around 5:15 p.m. when he hit the snow and fell into Zig Zag Canyon. Authorities told KOIN 6 News that the three were taking photos of their stunts when the accident happened.

Pollard suffered a back injury in the crash. The other two made it down the mountain.

Using a snow cat, Portland Mountain Rescue reached the skier around 11 p.m. Thursday.

More news will be posted as it comes.
