While January through March had Utah on pace for a winter to forget April and May has more than made up for it.  From April 29 through May 2 Snowbird reported seven feet of snow so that being the only resort open, we battled the rest of Salt Lake City for position in the tram line.  While it was well worth the wait, Kyler Cooley and I hopped on snowmobiles the following day and went to find some late season powder.  We took plenty of bottomless turns and hit a few cliffs while we waited for the sun to break to get after one last jump for the season.

After an extremely early wake up in hopes of landing in powder instead of slush the clouds broke and we got plenty of laps on one of the more fun jumps of the year.  Sorry about the lack of skiers in the photos below, but as you’ll see we stayed behind the lens of the new Cannon 7D instead of this trusty point and shoot.  Ross Downard (http://www.rossdownard.com) was there to capture plenty of still images over the past few days so once I get a few from him I will certainly share what I can.

A few turns, not the best snow of the week
Turned out nice and poppy
