'Tis the season! Snow has begun to periodically fall at upper elevations, and it's September which means that ski movie premieres are upon us. Some of our favorite production companies and skiers spent the winter filming and soon we'll be able to take the dust off of our skis and gather with the friends we've neglected all summer.
Level 1 - Zig Zag
1. a pattern created using alternating course.
2. another word for skiing.
Following nearly two decades of ski movie pedigree, Level 1 documents a lifestyle of contradiction. Timeless ephemera. Love and money. Natural and synthetic. Powder and slush. Stagnant and innovative. Untracked and well-travelled. Consistent but not predictable. Swerving left, right and diagonal, yet never asleep at the wheel.
MSP - 'ALL IN'
All in delivers a first of its kind experience. This concept is spearheaded by a talented group of hard-charging women who wanted to disrupt the male-dominated ski film formula. Skiing isn’t exclusionary. True fun in the mountains can be shared by everyone. This isn’t your typical “Women can shred too” film, this is a kick-ass ski film that just happens to feature as many women as men.
HOJI - MSP
Eric Hjorleifson lets his skiing speak for itself. He doesn’t stand on the bar and shout out his accolades. He skis for brands that give him 100% creative control over the equipment that he designs and uses. He chases storms. He ditches his cell phone for weeks at a time. His exploits are rarely flaunted on social media. In spite of all of this – or maybe because of it – he is a hero to legions of skiers across the globe. This is who Eric is – this is “HOJI.”
TRIUMPH - TANNER HALL
Armada Skis presents "Triumph" a film by Tanner Hall and Corey Stanton. Follow Tanner as he returns to top form in his 2017-18 season, while he discusses all of the struggles and triumphs that brought him to where he is now.
Blank Collective - Before Blank
The blank crew takes a light-hearted and retrospective look into the similarities and differences that drove each member down their own path. But like someone once said, who resembles, assembles. Their deep passion for skiing began at a young age, and that link continues to shape their lives today.
Teton Gravity Research - Far Out
Join the TGR crew on one of its boldest missions ever. The film follows the perspective of an athlete as he embarks on a journey to one of the most remote and unexplored mountain ranges on the planet, the Albanian Alps. While the final destination appears to be the ultimate goal, it is the collective of athletes, experiences, and the array of locations around the world that inevitably drive the season’s adventure. Witness mind-bending pillow lines as the crew camps out deep in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. Experience urban madness in Kamchatka and the insanity of the Crazy Mountains in Montana. Join the crew in the Slovenian Alps for over-the-head cold smoke and watch an 11-year-old rip Jackson Hole. Discover the alien landscape of Girdwood, Alaska in January and see Sean Jordan ride into Crested Butte on a black stallion to shred the Southern Rockies. Find out if the wildest and most untamed mountains in Europe let us in, and if the ultimate destination became a reality.
This is what we do. This is who we are. This is no place for fun. This is Strictly Business.

BULDOZLIFE - SATURNE
Our goal this season was to really get into filming skiing seriously. We bought a used professional DV camera from the last decade and spent most of our freetime in the mountains or in the streets of our local cities. At the end we learned that making a movie involves a lot of self investment and we still have a lot to learn but slowly and surely we are climbing the steps towards some uncommonly interesting footage.
This year was more a test to see if we could produce something worth calling a ski movie, and we have to say it ended up better than we excpected. The movie will be premiering at the High Five festival of annecy, so hurry up and grab your tickets for our screening! We hope this trailer will make you want to watch the full cut with all the vibes it involves.
Jiberish - Banged Up
Banged Up, an all street ski film featuring Sam Zahner, Calvin Barrett, Mike Cappola, Seamus Flanagan, Scrappy Joe Young, and Pete Koukov, chronicles the ups, downs, and in-betweens of their past season. Filmed, edited and produced by the riders, Banged Up features skiing in Colorado, Minnesota, and Massachusetts.
Jeremy Pancras - Would You
After breaking my back in competition, I decided to put a project together that allowed us to show the world our way of seeing life through our passions. Small talks and fast skiing, I had the chance to create a movie with a cast of athletes from all horizons that have always inspired me.
Do you have a movie trailer you want to see included here? Hit me up and we'll add it in.
