2024 vs 2025 Armada ARV 94

The 2024 arv94 is the new ski with poplar core, 2023 arv96 was the last of the old ones.

jstone210I found a great deal on a pair 2024 ARV 94s, but I know some people have had major durability issues with them.

I’m pretty new to freestyle skiing, so even though I won’t be doing disasters or going huge on jumps, I will probably beat the shit out of them learning basic rail and jump tricks. At most I might put 30 days on them this season.

Should I go for it since it’s a great price on a brand new pair of skis or wait to see how the 2025s with the poplar core hold up?

Ah, I just meant last season’s ski vs. the new ski. I thought they did the years like cars where they name the current model a year ahead.

just get poachers and you will be happy

Just 30 days you’ll probably be fine. You are certainly taking more of a risk of having durability problems with armada these days though

Shop folks: How willing has Armada been to warranty these when snapped?

i went through three pairs of the ARV 94 this season, all three had some sort of manufacturing defect. 2 had delamination and 1 completely lost its camber shape and looked like a full rocker ski. these were all within 20-30 days of skiing. the first two were warrantied quickly and easily, the third one I am still waiting for response after 3 weeks of waiting.

also even when I rounded off the edges underfoot, I noticed these edges crack much faster and in multiple areas at a faster rate than other park skis i've tried. I wouldnt consider edge cracks a defect since I'm sliding rails, but just an observation that it cracks faster.

apart from the durability issues, i also just wouldn't recommend the ARV 94 for a beginner park skier, they're a bit too stiff for someone new. If you want to stick with Armada, you should get the B-dog on sale right now for only ~$50 more and it'll be more durable and beginner friendly due to the flex. this ski is also proven to be more durable

I broke my arv 94s and they sent me a new pair. tbh they held up well I just didnt dry them off after using them and they got rusty and gave out. Overall if you take care of them you should be fine.
