I recently fixed this coreshot and the ptex is slightly splitting from the edge, anyway to keep it in place or will I have to keep filling the gap with ptex?
(fixed it today, dont have a pic of the gap but you get the point)
If it's a coreshot, you don't really wanna use ptex, won't hold to the core material as well. Tbh I recommend bringing it to a shop, most should have a ski mender gun which uses a different type of material which holds to the base much better, but if you wanna do it yourself, try covering the actual core material with epoxy first then ptexing on top of that. Also use a exacto knife/box cutter to cut a more round shape. Any ptex/replacement base material is more likely to pop out when there are sharp corners/edges.
Some pics to show what I'm talking about, but I used a ski mender gun here so no epoxy:

thank you, could I just fill the gap with a little bit of epoxy and call it a day? or should I take it to a shop
I use metalgrip which is a mix between ptex and epoxy. I originally had a fix like urs with just ptex and it kept coming out and cracking. Bought some of this and it hasn’t come out in 3 weeks, even with it being directly under the boot and slamming rails and whatnot. just have to have something like a soldering iron to really press it in and apply it properly.
