Difference between male and female model skis?

I was looking for a new pair of charging skis and was looking at the mana 3 from faction, and i noticed a great deal on a pair of mana 3x (womens version) how do these compare to the mens model? Are they good skis in general?

Haven’t really seen men picking up woman models but usually main differences are weight and height usually women skis tend to stop at 171cm but i might be wrong…

Yeah i was planning on getting these in the 172cm since i am a short king at 5’7 it’s fine. But i was mainly wondering how this lower weight effects the ski when it should have about the same flex pattern?

I think it depends on each company's approach. Some are the same or similar construction in smaller sizes and different topsheets. Some are lighter and less stiff versions like the Santa Ana 98 vs Enforcer 100. The 3 and 3X are listed as the same weight in 172 (1820g), so my guess is it's the same ski.

Can’t really tell you anything factual here might need to fire up google but how i see it is that they use little bit different materials to cut the weight little bit which might change the flex pattern but this is just a guess rn…

Some companies just "shrink it and pink it" where the construction, flex, mount point, etc. is all the same with only the sizes and top sheets differing. Other companies are a bit more tailored in their approach. Either way if you're on the lighter side it doesn't really matter. The ski doesn't know how you identify and nobody else really cares.

I ski a ladies boot fwiw. It's the narrowest lowest volume boot out there without stepping up to race boots.

it is the exact same ski. just in shorter sizes. you can watch factions youtube video about the mana line to confirm for yourself. but ya the women’s version is exactly the same as the men’s just shorter. go for the deal.

IME skis marketed as ‘w’ or ‘x’ or some shit are more likely to have a sick colorway like pink and purple and are usually the same exact ski or some indistinguishable difference like cloud core vs a tiger core or something that doesn’t make sense. If they are the same price or less I would get the x skis for sure

Yeah for sure but just like with skis they are made towards averages and in various shapes and configurations. The boots I have are extremely low volume in the heel, lower leg, and instep. Easier to take up space in the cuff area than the rest of the boot.

mana 3.0 and 3.0x are the same skis, hand-flexed them both, they are identical

Womens skis have sick graphics. The santa Ana line from nordica has some of the best graphics I've ever seen.

The Sierra has a way better topsheet than Deathwish this year. If I see the 179 Sierra on sale I might consider it.
