Being from Washington the PNW cement is something I miss terribly. It is very difficult to ride, but that's what makes it so great. If you have the right skills and the right equipment (full rocker 125+ underfoot), you could get fresh lines all day while everyone else was stuck floundering. Also that dense snow really cushions a fall much better than the light stuff. I don't miss not seeing the sun for 9 months of the year though, so I have no desire to move back. The SAD is bad up there, but the pow days are legendary.

Exactly. Makes the blower storms seem that much better too. People are complaining about the cascadian cement or whatever but it’s way better than getting no snow at all. Baker specifically gets nuked on compared to most mountains every year so as long as you learn to ride it, it’s way more fun.
