Hey guys, long time lurked first time poster. I wanted to get everyones opinion on my current predicament:
Im based in Whistler and have owned my black crows animas for 2 years. they are great skis but sadly they started to delaminate after a year. I sent a warranty request showing images of lightly used (maybe 20 days) skis and the delamination and was told that they could not help me.
I have 3 other pairs of heavily used and tip-chipped black crows and have never had this problem before, so I went back to them asking them to reconsider. They said no again.
Now the second ski has started to delaminate at the top. It's important to note there have been no big impacts or horrible moments to cause this layer to peel away, the tips of the skis are lightly worn. I told Black crows customer service this and they have stopped replying to my emails which i was a little put out by.
I took my skis to my trusted tuner here in whistler who always raves about the quality of the wood cores and construction in the black crows but even he told me they should be warrantied as this was below the norm quality manufacturing for them. Now one ski is slighty de-lamming at the tip and the other has delaminated down one side underneath where it was originally regued by my tuner. My tuner has, for my sake, refused to glue the skis again as he thinks such an expensive pair of skis should warrant some sort of customer support / warranty.
I wanted to post here to see if anyone had had similar issues with this and to get peoples opinion on the de-lamination pictured below.
Cheers!
