As anyone ever got severe shin periostitis

Hi,

I am a skier and skater. For a long time I have had shin periostitis because of my skateboard hitting my shins every time. Whenever I run, I feel it in my shin, the pain of what skiers call shin bangs appears really quickly. I did take some rest but it never leaves completely. Even worse when I ski and jump around the slopes. I’m not very good so I sometimes don’t land correctly. I got Fulltilt boots thinking it would change something but apparently, it’s still not perfect. When pressing on the front of the boots I have like a finger width between my calf and the back of the liner. Is this too much according to you ?

if fulltilts didnt fix it you should probably just have them removed dude

no i mean remove your shins and have metal plates installed your shins are no good dude, most of the pros these days have prosthetic shins

Sounds like you have shitty shins but just incase shin bang is what you're experiencing with skiing, staying out of the backseat is paramount. Also booster straps work wonders, and while they don't fix your form, they will prevent shin bang.

Also the guy above is sarcastic. Expect a lot of shit posting on this site lol

No worries, english is not my first language that’s why I did not feel the sens of sarcasm.
Anyways, the booster strap I think I have something similar on my FT Tom Wallisch boots at the top which clearly helps to keep me snug. I think I ski well it’s just the landings I am usually back seated because I don’t know how to pop correctly and maybe my core muscles are too weak (need to work abs). Also I have seen that strengthening your lower leg could help with shin bangs, i am gonna try that… Else I’ll live with the pain, I am a skater after all ahah

No the booster strap is different than the power straps on boots. It is elastic and you have to remove your old strap to install it.
