Skiing Outwest Vs East Coast

What's up NS community this is 100% a noob question so bear with me I'm heading out west for the first time this year and some of my close friends have told me that when they went out west they actually rented powder skis? I currently ride Arv 96's which to my understanding is a decent size underfoot for some powder obviously not a ton. I do not plan on going backcountry but just to local popular resorts and am wondering if they'll be fine or do I really need to rent powder skis? Any knowledge is appreciated thanks.

Lol I ski a 98 underfoot most days in CO. Sometimes 108. If your arvs are short and near center mounted and it snows more than 6inches then a demo may be fun! But like you’ll be fine on those and have a blast. What sucks is having 78 underfoot directional carvers

Awesome thank you for the information they are mounted at -1.5 and are 177's worst-case if the mountain gets dumped on demo day does sound enticing. Thank you!

agreed with previous answers, you're 100% good to go. if they're center mounted and/or there's a ton of snow and/or you feel like youre sinking a lot then you can rent some fatter skis but you're totally fine

it's nice to use the skis you're used to anyway

You’re good to go. I mostly ski some 100 and 102 underfoots out here in co so 96 will be fine. Colorado doesn’t need as wide skis as west coast ranges

You'll be fine, an ARV is a great ski, and a lot of people ride it in Colorado.

Also, it hasn't snowed too much our here this year...

You dont need fat skis out west.

nowadays it's all chopped up so fast anyway that its more of a pain in the ass if your skis are wide.
