Bent Chetlers 100 Great Ski or Lame Ski?

I have been going to bat for the Bent Chetler 100s. I get feedback that Bent Chetlers are “not cool” and “boring”. I bought mine last season and really enjoyed skiing them I feel like they can do anything I can take them in the park, ski the bowls with them, or just enjoy the resort. I think they make sick turns, and are extremely playful. I looked online at reviews, and every review seems positive. So why is there so much Bent Chetler hate?

The ski itself is a jack of all trades but master of none ski and isn’t exactly a super exciting ski. It gets hate on here because it’s the official ski of r/skiing.

The 110 coming next year has me stoked though.

Yeah that’s why I got them because I needed a one ski quiver that could do park,piste, and powder. It seemed like the best at the time and it has not disappointed

if you enjoy them, shred them. Being a legit jack of all trades is something that the vast majority of skis can't lay claim to.

That’s the biggest reason. They’re obsessed on r/skiing and suggest it to people who don’t need the bent 100

It's a great ski with weirdly low perceived sex appeal on this corner of the internet. Dads all over the world like them so us super core ski forum people have an obligation to hate on them. But they're really a fun, good ski. Mount them closer to center and they're a blast.

This is pretty much the sentiment of enthusiast forums all over the internet. The Toyota camry forum and the Nissan rogue forum are probably crap whereas the Renault 5 turbo forum is probably cool.

Totally. Also, important to note, the ski's namesake is now a dad, so, by definition, all of his pro models are "dad skis"

good ski for lighter skiers, and sadly not great for heavier.



a bit of a weird flex pattern for what I like, but definetly a good ski the 100, put sevral friends on it.



I do love the 120 for slow pow rides in tight trees. mellow ski.

If it it works out of you, and you love it, its a good ski for you, and that matters the most.

Hot take but I kind of agree. Soul 7 revolutionized what the “dad ski” category is today. First ski of its kind that was stupid easy to ski in any condition imaginable. The bent 100 gets that same hype and it doesn’t deserve it. It’s not inherently a bad ski but the fact that so many people who *dont* know shit about skiing think they do know about skiing and suggest it to literally everybody is what annoys me personally. But again, it’s not a bad ski. It actually skis really well.
