Had a pretty sick day traversing and skiing some pristine sidecountry at my home resort, Steamboat. Around 2 I was feeling pretty tired and hungry so I started the escape run out. Skiing a run called betwixt, there are a number of nice sidehits. The last hit was kinda shaded, wasn't able to see the landing very clearly. I tried to send it uphill a touch to land in the fresher snow.
Not totally sure what happened after that other than a knee to the chin. I didn't even fall, kept skiing. Spit on my mitt to check for blood. No blood only a bunch of little bone shards. Ohhh fuck, adrenaline starts pumping.
Race to the bottom and walk into patrol hq. They're primary concerned about concussion/head trauma and conduct a check for concussion. I passed just fine and leave. Five minutes later I'm my locker room, get a bad headache and start crying lol. Classic concussion symptoms. Got a CT scan, no internal bleeding, no fractures, no pain meds just a concussion and a jaw contusion.
So now I'm chilling, regreting that sidehit more than anything life. Basically every single tooth is chipped pretty well. Shit hurts. Anyone have experience with a mouth injury similar to this?
