Personally I am a fan of a good mellow indica that I can put on a show and get couched to or ID-hybrid that I can go for a walk or something on and still be able to move but be grooved out as fuck. sativa tends to make me a bit anxious tbh, from time to time I can fuck with a good SD-hybrid if i'm in the right headspace

Tldr: it's more than sativa vs indica but generally I like sativa.
But really op, it's variable. While I think the general profile of sativa vs indica and associated terpenes with specific strains has various effects, I think part of it is mindset. Also the composition of other cannabinoids that can vary from plant to plant within the same lineage, can influence effects. We know there are various influences all through the growth, harvest, drying, curing, and storage phases that can all affect the composition of cannabinoids and terpenes. Thus poor quality control and variability between growers and even within growers who have good quality control influences cannabis effects. That end product after all those variables will determine your effects.
Ever notice how you can smoke a whole batch of weed over multiple days and have different effects from it depending what time of the day, where you smoked it, how you smoked it, did you vape it, how much you ingested, how high you got, used alone vs with other people, etc etc etc? It's so variable. I've finished a batch over a week before and gotten different effects each time. What if that difference is related to the rate of administration of THC rather than terpenes/other cannabinoids? It's possible considering pharmacodynamics can be affected by rate. How's that for a mindfuck?
I prefer sativa because the lineage generally is more energizing and creative... Allegedly but maybe it's just placebo.... I'd love to see a RCT on sativa vs indica to see if there is a true difference. I get more introspection from those strains for sure. Nothing beats a good indica laughing sesh though or that mega couch lock.
But sativa vs indica is just a guide. It's not a rule. I've had sativas that were more sedating and indicas that were more energizing. Then you got the whole issue of most stuff is hybrid and not exclusively one or the other sativa/indica.
I've also had plenty of strains I could care less for, or others that were downright unpleasant (OBJ, Red Headed Stranger). But uhhh eheath the complexities of all the various chemicals from plant to plant for sure makes a difference in how it makes you feel. THC is the constant. Everything else is icing on the cake.
I definitely prefer indicas but tbh the differences are pretty subtle in my experience. I've only ever gotten paranoid/anxious from sativas, but not every sativa makes me anxious. Otherwise there's not really a significant difference for me at least.
Depends what I’m doing but usually indica at night and sativa during the day.
nowadays though I don’t care as much about that stuff I just like weed that tastes good and smokes nice. Best strain I ever had was called “sherbet creamsicle” from GoldenLeaf in steamboat It was super purple and literally tasted like an orange creamsicle, it was so perfect in a blunt *chefs kiss*

I will never understand how people can bike after smoking. I'm in pretty good shape but I get winded way too fast. Not much of an issue for me skiing but I can def feel the difference.

I use to hate on the sativa/indica talk but Nevada has the best recreational prices and you get to see all of the cannaboid content percentages. I always choose the strains with the high terpene levels (1% and above the most unforgettable tree has 3%+) because those are the best indicator of the quality of the grow. And thc doesn't mean a lot after 20%. But what im saying is ive got the most unique tasting and fun buzzes from "sativa" strains. Some of the rarer terpenes in sativas are ocimene, humulene, and terpinolene. High terp sativas are so unique

Holy shit a pack and a half... Homie have you heard of Lyft nicotine pouches? Those things got me off the Juul and are way stronger than Zyns. Sorry if that sounds like I'm nagging but I strongly recommend trying it if you haven't.
Anyway, maybe it has more to do with smoke tolerance. I smoke bowls pretty often but never very much at one time and since I don't like to ski with glass, I'll pretty much only smoke them on the go. Haven't tried biking on edibles but those fuckers slap for skiing. Half gram in a firecracker and I'm set for 4-6 hours without getting winded. I also noticed carts didn't really cause me to get winded but I haven't used one of those since like 2018 and haven't looked back.
I agree problem is I don’t wanna quit, I quit a few years ago cold turkey no problem it’s super easy if u make it past 48hrs , especially if u smoke herb.I spent several weeks about a year ago and decided to take up smoking to help with stress.
Carts, I like em, but ya they leave me immediately winded, maybe cause I hit them abusively idk so I get maybe 3 a year they are for driving from pgh to co, ut, mt etc , concentrates fuck me up too, but again maybe cause I abuse them, haven’t smoked a concentrate in years. I believe dat. the human body is crazy. mans adapted. But truthfully things catch up especially if you stop being as active from jobs/kids etc. Key to longevity is stick to an active routine and never settle
Im on that dab routine nowadays. I can tell smoking tree compared to concentrate(dispensary live resin concentrate and tree) must strain the lungs harder. Used to be cool with tree but now if I use it as the majority to get high there is alot more mucus and dirty mucus in my lungs. Waking up from tree compared to waking up from concentrates, im more fatigued by tree. I can tell my lungs/body work harder against the plant matter in tree that I smoked. Biff, u getting fucked from concentrates is prolly cause the amount of thc in a single puff concentrate compared to tree. Ur body not used to it. The high is gonna slap harder and youre lungs got rushed compared to when you smoke tree. Thc raises your blood pressure which is why ive heard some people say they smoke before cardio

Adaptation is amazing and very interesting, used to have a peanut allergy, could never stop eating Reese’s, buy these by the box, I no longer have a peanut allergy , working on my tree nuts resistance, this is not going as well, sifting pistachio out of pudding 😖🤯 once in a while I miss 1 tongue and throat get itchy, used to almost kill me

Not gonna argue that, I’m apprehensive about the day it catches me, I do plan to quit both, not sure what first or when, or if I’ll ever totally quit weed.
I could see how your opinion of concentrates/vapes differ and affect the body based on composition, and adaptation, I certainly have less experience with those , weed leaves me feeling “moist” in the throat and lungs, able to cough up , vapes and concentrates leave me feeling dry and starved for air. I know there are different Psillia (sp?) in the lungs, like little fingers, small and large, and they are affected differently by types of smoke
As far as cardio, both cigarettes and weed increase heartbeat, I do smoke every am before my workouts, if I don’t smoke I’m less determined , less psyched and will work shorter hours. As far as staying active, cardio, hiit, and lifting everyday followed by landscaping everyday so I’m kinda active, I take a rest day once every two weeks to a month, and have accidentally basically spent my entire life in “ketosis”, it’s worked well but I don’t recommend anything I do for anyone else

that's great bro I I fuck with the mentality and probably have more vices than u and don't work out. thats all some real shit about the lungs. I went through a chronic cough sickness 4 years ago freshman year college that lasted for months.I just lived with it kept vaping nic and smoking tree. coughed up yellow and brown colored mucus for what felt like forever. Had fevers all the time that I wasn't really aware of until I was in the doctors office unrelatedly towards the end of it. they took my temperature and it was a 98.9 but that was how I always was. I slowly got better but I have never felt the same since and don't breath the same as I used to. I was the one who could take the biggest rips and hold it and I could tell that changed. Im slowly realizing now I think I got tuberculosis and got nerve damage in my back and throat from coughing n shit. I think thats why now I have to only vape because I think smoking anything is tougher for my body. People have told me before that im the fastest hiker they've been with like you too, and Ive been getting way too fucked up lately and im always busy. I haven't stopped since I was 16 on weed or nic n im 21 now. im not sure if I would beat my 18 year old self in a race and it feels like im not getting better. I need a huge break fs

It’s bc I smoke at work. When I’m in a dump truck between commercial sites, I do 1-8 sites a day, .5hr to 1.5hr between, gives me time to smoke, also take a few hits here and there on site. At home I game and smoke play with kids, smoke, put kids to bed , smoke sleep, wake up smoke…so there’s time. Also I smoke in my office building, ups, fed ex, Amazon, cleaning lady all appreciate it, reminds the cleaning lady of her son (he passed 😞) good kid
