Replying to Shoulder Instability Surgey

Hey guys so I severely dislocated my shoulder about 3 months ago and decided tom ride this season out, flash forward to now and the same shoulder has severely dislocated 8 times since the first incident. Doctor said I have a SLAP tear and need surgery. My question is, has anyone gone through this surgery? seems like a pretty common injury and I was wondering what its like and how the recovery is? Thanks for the input, just hoping I'll be 100% by November
