Replying to Faction Prime 3.0 questions
Whats up NS, got into touring this year and was able to find some faction prime 3.0's and kingpins for a relatively good price. I mounted them up and took them to the resort and am unsure of how I like them. Previous to buying these, I have been skiing on some ON3P C&D's and some Dynastar M-free 108's. So I am used to skiing on some fairly rockered and beefy skis. I like to ski fast and blow through crud when Im in the resort. I knew that the Primes were going to be pretty different from these and that I would probably have to adapt my skiing style for them.
Quick facts:

Skier: 170 pounds, 5"9'
On my first run, I took them through the trees at Brighton. The trees were not super tight but I still found myself having a hard time getting them to pivot and maneuver.
I stuck to the groomers for the rest of the day to try and get a better feel for them. They carve pretty well and seem to hold an edge pretty good as long as I kept my turns long (they have a 23m turning radius, the rocker profile of the other skis I am currently riding allow me to make those long turns but also can be shut down pretty easily).
When loading the tips up fairly hard, I felt them get to a point where it seemed like loading them anymore would just make them crumple underneath me. I also noticed that at high speeds they felt fairly unstable when straight-lining.
I realize that some of the performance aspects I am used to are inevitably going to be sacrificed for the light weight performance on the up hill. I am wondering if any of you guys have had similar issues in the past and if so, how did you adapt your skiing style to better accommodate the ski?
