DolansLebensraumI think on3p has a price floor contract with all vendors who sell their products, in order to maintain the appearance of exclusivity and inherent value.
its one of the reason i have a questionable amount of respect for them as a company.
I wouldnt expect you to ever see on3ps at a competitive price. I sure havent.
As it is on3p seems to be some sort of rich kid club full of trustafarians who would rather have their full ski equipment getup cost (and look like it cost) 2000-3000 dollars than buy shit thats good value and let their skiing do the talking instead of their equipment.
its almost like on3p thinks it can charge twice the price per ski as head/volkl/atomic/fischer charge as if the huge/experienced teams of germans and austrians cant engineer for shit.
yah ok, good luck with that vision, in a world where political correctness is dying faster than joe bidens brain cells.
ReturnToMonkeyI work hard and save up all year, living broke af for a few months so I can afford them. Same with pretty much all of my friends who ride ON3Ps. It's not like they cost 2000 dollars... They pay for themselves in durability and are definitely worth the cost in terms of performance.
DolansLebensraumI think on3p wants to have the image of true core skiers like you saving up all their money to buy indestructable skis. But if that was true i would expect on3p to replace skis when the edges rip out or the ski delams or snaps in 2. They dont. Ppl seem to have frequent complaints of their 0n3ps eating shit and the warranty not covering the damages. I can understand some brands not covering rail related damage. But they arent charging 800$ for their skis like on3p is. They are charging 300-400$. Big difference.
most on3p riders i see on the mtn are wearing expensive clothing and brand new saga shit. If i saw kids like you riding on3ps in walmart pants and a beat up cheap jacket i would accept your perspective. But from what ive seen its kind of like the americans who drive rear wheel drive porsches bc they want everybody to think they are awesome drivers for being able to handle a rwd porsche without tankslapping a bitch and totaling their 911.
Im not saying porsches arent cool bc they are. Im just saying i think the on3p image is kind of pretentious. If on3p disagrees with this they should stop charging 800$ per ski as if they have the albert einstein of ski engineering cooped up in their factory.
otherwise they need to replace their customers skis when they fall apart, especially if the guys who buy them are like you and working their asses of to barely be able to afford them.
ReturnToMonkeyThey literally did replace mine when it broke when they were less than a year old, not the second time when the shitty griffons exploding broke the core somehow. That was 3 years after I got the replacement so I didnt even bother contacting them.

WoFlowz“Pay for themselves in durability” just cause their cool doesn’t mean your durable my friend chips edge ripped out underfoot after 2months and his heal piece ripped out twice even tho it was mounted by a reputable shop. Smh rn

iggyskierI (understandably) have no expectation that you would have insight into the actual business side of skiing, but all brand in skiing have MAP terms that control pricing both in season and as product goes on sale. MAP's primary goal is to control underselling and ensure an even playing field between various dealer accounts. Our are no more aggressive than other brands.
MAP until March 1st.
Up to 20% off MAP between March 1st and April 15th.
Total pricing freedom after April 15th.
You don't see our skis discounted more because we nor our dealers need to do so to sell them. Supply/Demand 101.
On pricing - again - I have no expectation that you insight into things like COG and domestic vs international manufacturing costs - why would you - so don't hold your misunderstandings about running manufacturing stateside against you. But you are wrong often - and never seem all that interested in having your opinions corrected, even when those correcting them actually know what they are talking about.
I know we live in your brain 24/7 these days, so of course look forward to more thoughts once you return in April from your latest ban.
Re: warranty - tag me in any threads you would like me to respond to. The idea that we're turning down warranty claims left and right just isn't based in reality - as much as you want it to be true.
MaimHelpThey are durable asf idc what anyone says. As many rails as I hit and swaps and shit, my skis look mint other than 2 hairline fractures in the edge. Any other ski I’ve had was blown by this point

iggyskierAnd just heads up on things like this - but if I message you to find out details about the skis & customer in question and they aren't in our sales system or we have no record of any sort of customer contact over issues like this - I am going to point that out.
I get that for brands like ours, it is both live-and-die-by-the-forums, so it's all part of the game. But if people are making statements like this as if its canon when on our end we've heard nothing...obviously doesn't sit too well.
NotaskibumThis was an incredibly thoughtful reply to someone like Dolan.
Also, hes gone till april?? I need more threads about ski bases, idk how i'm gonna last that long.
ReturnToMonkeyApril is only like 2 weeks away. he got a 2 week ban, or so I heard. I can't wait. Maybe we can convert him to ON3P and he will understand the way.
Hey @iggyskier (or other people) I'm prolly gonna get some custom Jeffs soon with Grizzlycorn bases. Should I get the Cease and Desist topsheets or the Billy Goat ones? Going for some interesting contrast here. Also, should I go longer length or add the carbon stiffness if I want them to be slightly more stable?
iggyskierWhat is your height/weight and what width/size are you thinking?
Both tops are sick so hard for me to pick. CD obviously has some social context right now that you may or may not want to worry about in a lift line (we clearly don't care - hence the topsheet - but don't be surprised if you get some comments).

ReturnToMonkey168 cm, normally ski 171ish,160 lbs without a morning coffee... Good, bring on the controversy, you meet interesting people that way. My current duck tape job and janky brakes started a convo in the lift line that landed me the owner of some sweet juicy tabs from an old hippie lol
iggyskierWhat width are you thinking? If easier, too, just hit us up over email.
isaacwrongHoping surface has some dead stock...trying cop some snipers
kylersucksthey said they are completely out of stock on all 2020 and 2021 skis

Obama_carethey would get a lot more customers if they lowered prices but i do understand why they have them so high at the same time
