Replying to Tips for XL jumps? Got send to my ass today
I've been skiing a pretty long time, and am pretty comfortable sending it in the park on small to large sized features. Today I decided to send the 45 footer at my local park. I've never hit a jump this big (I hit some 30 footers a couple years ago), but it's a step-up and it's got a perfect steep landing so I figured as long as I went big I couldn't go wrong. Hit it with good speed and just aired it to the landing. No problem. I went to hit it again a run later and the lip kicked me off balance, flying kinda backwards, ended up landing on my back.
How do you avoid this when sending jumps with steep lips? Do I gotta pop more to set myself forwards, are they not really designed for straight airs, or do I gotta just bend my knees more to kinda absorb the kicker?
Idk, thought someone here would know. Appreciate any advice.
