Replying to Did the auto shop fuck up my engine?

I don't usually bring my 1997 4Runner into the shop to get things done to it, as it is more expensive, less rewarding, and sometimes they suck ass. I had to get the timing belt, water pump, and other things there replaced. I am in the middle of a tough semester of school and it's ski season! I didn't want to do all that work in the snowy cold, so I finally caved and brought it in. Immediately I get a call telling me they also need to replace my alternator. Sure, fine whatever it did need to be done. They also said while reattaching everything, they cracked my radiator and that needed to be replaced. I was mad and fought that, got them to remove the charge of the radiator. I left satisfied that my truck got some important maintenance done, but I felt strange about the whole encounter still. I noticed pretty quickly that my engine was making like no power. Pushing the gas pedal anywhere past about 40% did absolutely nothing. What was normally a torquey low-speed engine now was accelerating from 0-30 the same way it normally would from like 60-90 (hint: very, very slowly). Now this weekend it dumped, I didn't drive to the mountain, and the next day when I tried to cold start, it tried and tried but never started. The starter motor runs. Everything moves alright, but the engine never starts. I've tried multiple times now and it won't give. None of this ever was an issue before I brought it in to the shop.

What the hell did the shop do to cause this?
