TRVP_ANGELbuy a console
Flacker(Need a Mac because Premier pro is to expensive right now)
roddy116M1 chip is good, but the problem is thats its in a macintosh, also its still dedicated graphics. in a normal market where there is actual computer parts to buy the m1 chip is just okay in the grand scheme of things, its a different architecture and its a zippy cpu for sure. Also im not saying its gonna happen, but there is a chance that apple could release the M1 chip for other computers, which would make it really worthit.
eheathPremiere is $20 a month with no discounts (ie if you're a student, its $10 or $30 for the suite).
Final cut is like $300?
Macbook = $2000
Windows laptop = $1000
Sounds like buying a mac and using final cut is more expensive.
FlackerThe one time purchase for final cut is what got me. I also learned how to use Avid on a Mac and prefer it on that.
eheathIts a silly argument TBH if you really want an apple product you can just say "i like apple products" but final cut + mbp is not cheaper.
Also, avid works the same on apple and windows, just like premiere.
LonelyOnboard graphics SUCK. Get something with a nice dedicated card and you will be much happier. Plus, macs are overpriced, impossible to repair, and are a little janky with some video formats/applications
FlackerNever really answered my question about the M1 but thanks for the advice I guess.
I’m not a student Im a graduate in debt budget is tight now I can’t afford $238 bucks a year when I can just buy final cut once for $300..
if you actually have any experience with the M1 and it’s processing speed that’s be helpful.
eheathBut you can afford a brand new macbook pro? I'm simply pointing out that buying an apple product and using fcp is more expensive than buying a windows laptop and using adobe (or avid apparently).
The chips are the same as every other processor out there, it won't be noticeably faster than any similarly priced components.
FlackerNever owned a Mac but I got a friend who works for apple and is getting me a 2020 model for half off basically. Lucky to know smart ass people.
JAHpowDaVinci Resolve is free
eheathIf you're editing video's for fun, then yea this works great. I'm not sure what OPs goals are with this setup, I think he just wants to edit for fun, but he wants to tell his friends he has a mac book pro and that he uses final cut.
FlackerDamn dude I was just seeing if anyone has made the switch, and could give me feedback. Sorry I just graduated and I’m trying to make a portfolio so I can make a living doing this. I must be a poser though, thanks for nothing doucher.
