Big storms have been rare here at Granite Peak the past couple years, but mommy natch swung around yesterday to give the upper midwest some love. Snow started at around 8am and didn't quit until midnight and we got like 10 inches of just solid, big light flakes to finally give us a good enough base for tree skiing. I went up to the hill at about noon and it was just perfect, it felt a Boho pow day, I was able to hit my favorite lines that had been too rocky beforehand, still earned a core shot and some big scratches but I dont care, I was in my element and basically just rode until I couldn't anymore... the upside is the midwest is that only about 25% of skiers here know how to pow so I was able to find untracked nuggets until like 6pm which was about when I left cuz I forgot to eat all day..
got home and closed the day with a bowl, a pizza, and Natural Selection
I mean this may seem pedestrian to all you Westerners but I just had to share the stoke for such a rare day cuz this is about the best it gets here
