How has your season been? Mine is shaping up to be about 75% solo and this year it kinda sucks since you only ride with your group. Newfound lift friends are nearly a thing of the past right now.

How has your season been changed? What are you doing to keep the stoke high?

JpurdJust to clear things up for any confusion that has been sprawled throughout this entire thread by well.. you know. My original post was to point out that yes, I have been skiing both solo and with friends throughout this year.

If I am going with friends and we are riding in the same car (this has been 2 weekends), we have been getting tested. None of us want to get COVID and potentially deal with 1) being sick and having to quarantine for two weeks 2) being contagious and potentially asymptomatic and getting others sick and 3) I just hate being sick whether it's a cold or COVID.

Am I more likely to be injured/killed driving on I-70? Of course, I am. That can be said for most things. That being said, I genuinely am not living in fear of COVID-19- I'm not afraid to get it, I just don't want to, and have to shut my life down for 2+ weeks.

I just don't understand what you care so much about people doing something that is more responsible than potentially being asymptomatic and then potentially spreading that to a friend while we are driving for 2+ hours together.


Because normalizing insane behavior is why we cannot go back to normal.

I asked for a mercy ban. I've never argued I use this site in a healthy manner.

skiindianaDude, again, people getting tested for a respiratory virus that doesn't spread outdoors and then driving 70 miles to go skiing outside are the reason we cannot go back to normal.

So if you don't want to question anything and let this crazy people keep us from riding chairlifts like normal people, then I guess you win.

You should hang out with the guy screaming at a single on Saturday trying to ride a 6 person chair with 3 strangers. You all should get along great.

Yeah dude, the flu. I'm not like scared of it or anything. I just don't want to get my friends sick or have to deal with the flu.

So I literally get tested for the flu before I go out on a Saturday night. Then on Sunday I get tested again just to be safe.

Nope, I'm just saying I need to stay safe. And, even though I'm totally not unjustifiably afraid of the flu, I get tested for it before hanging out with friends - always.

It's the right thing to do. And, there's no way that I will eventually start advocating that everyone do this. I mean how hard is it really? I think everyone should just get tested for the flu before hanging out with people. It's the right thing to do.

But, eheath, I did hear your quite overweight. Have you gotten yourself checked for stomach or colon cancer? Just to be safe bro

I'm skiing alone and I was just thinking that. Normally I can at least find someone to make friends but there isn't anyone here to befriend (at breck) currently so I'm chugging a red bull trying to psych myself up.

I think it's funny you're talking about decision making when it comes to risks on a free skiing website where we fling ourselves off cliffs and jumps at high speeds, do crazy spins onto metal rails, and making unhealthy decisions like drinking and smoking. You think we are going to care what the statistics say about the drive? Half these apes can't even do any math that doesn't involve multiples of 180. What harm does someone wanting to get tested for covid do besides hurt your feelings? I wouldn't say this guy is overly worrying because he is still getting out, going skiing, and living his life the way he wants to. He'll take risks differently than the next person, just the same as one park skier feels safer just throwing backflips while another feels fine throwing dub rodeos or something like that. Obviously one is more risky than the other, but no one is judging the first guy for not being a bigger risk taker. No one is judging the secone guy for taking a bigger risk.

Noticed the single lines have been rough at resorts. Seems like most have their little groups of 3-4 so what we started doing is asking people that looked like they were skiing same as us but solo if they wanted to join us. Some really welcomed that.

We think related risk has been extremely minimal being outdoors and all... really people just stop licking each other and skiing is fine...

Yeah ever since I had to stop licking the single riders to make sure they tasted safe to ride with, skiing just hasn't been the same. The ride is never electrically awkward anymore

I ski solo 90% of the time. Shout out to the lifties that get hype for me skiing into the line switch or being on the blades. You guys really keep the stoke going.

I’ve met a few cool people on the lift this year but I feel like people are talking a lot less on the lift. One guy I actually coached into dropping his first cliff and I’m glad I could help expand someone else’s ski knowledge.

If anyone ever wants to ski in Colorado hmu I have both passes.

This year was a dud. Low snow pack, super sketchy snowpack for avys and windswept shitfuck was 60-70% of the time. Luckly I have a buddy thats always up for a few laps.
The few days I rode alone werent very fun.

I ski about 50% alone its pretty fun. Riding the lift can get boring sometimes but it's not too bad. I've met a few new homies and been skiing with all of my other really good friends. I've also got a girl who skis park so i guess my seasons been pretty good.
