Does LOOK already make an all-black pivot thats mostly used by the freestyle crowd (Moguls, Aerials)? My buddy got a pair of brand-new black pivots last year with like a 90mm brake he swapped out the plates for to fit a bigger one to accomodate a pow ski.

Lazylightningwhy do you say that? Do you think there'd be too much overlap between a reckoner 92 and poacher? Or was it that the poacher would be changed
I feel like they won’t do much to the poachers in a while. Feel like a lot of skiers swear by them

It would be hard to overlap the poacher with how friggin stiff it is

They make all black 18s with only 75mm brakes. Obviously they can be switched for 95 or 115 but from the factory they’re only 75
Poacher construction is remaining unchanged through 2022 (at least). The reckoner 92 and 92 alliance is a replacement for the Press and Empress but with more of a reckoner freeride/freestyle vibe.
Kbob94I’m super hyped too! From what I’ve heard the poacher is getting a change and there’s a possibility of a reckoner 92
anders_ahaha +1 on that, maybe they did it to sell more reckoner 102s and reckoners in general this year? :p
The answer to this is we want them to be their own unique models. Poacher graphics have kind of been all over the place the last few years so we wanted to give the ski a new look graphically and make it feel more like a “true twin” since it’s the closest thing K2 makes to that at this point. In order to do this we took most the graphic structure out of the design, blasted the acid wash/tie dye type pattern all over it and let the ski speak for itself. This was also to help the ski feel similar whether it was seen forward or switch since their isn’t really a right or wrong way to the direction of the graphic. Good for stickers since our team skis them and it was our efforts to let the ski take on a new life if you will.
The reckoners however are different by nature. Being K2s new model and being more of a freeride/freestyle directional twin it has an underlying graphic story to help us get back to adding illustration and art on our skis. The illustrations in the tail for this first year with the big chain on the nose was done to remind people that while these are twins they are still directional by design. You’ll notice the base is similar. Unlike the twin, forward backward base design of the poacher or sight, the reckoner has the big chain in the nose and a forward oriented logo in the tail.
Trust me when I say this, the graphics are being HEAVILY nerded out on by is here at K2 and there’s a method to all the madness.

Both, it would suck if they got rid of the poacher name and just make it another Reckoner. I’m not really a big fan of naming a whole line of skis the same name and adding numbers to them, I like different names for each ski
But remember flex feels vastly different depending on sizing avail and the rider. I have the poacher 184, I love the poacher, its not very stiff beeing 6'3 230lbs and for me, fairly short.
Hand flexing the reckoner 102 feels.. like a line blend for me, but hey, sometimes thats fun.

K2 is not planning on getting rid of the Poacher or the Poacher name anytime soon. The Reckoner line and the new Reckoner 92 are greatly different in design and will remain in their own lanes.
Are you smoking crack? The previous black/yellow poachers look amazing and the new poachers look even more amazing. I’m not even a K2 guy and I’ve never even ridden poachers. But let’s call a spade a spade. The poachers are a ski I’ve always kinda had a crush on from afar.
rubberpantaloonsEvery poacher graphic after the blue and red ones has been pretty ugly imo

I asked pwhite last year if they planned on making a black ops 108 (with a twintip obviously) and he said something was in the works. that was pre-COVID tho so who knows if thats gonna happen this season. Also Sam Favret posted some stuff on his ig story a few months back that looked promising. I really hope this happens because a slimmed down 118 (no changes to the shape or construction just a cm narrower) would be so fucking sick.
BradAusNzCoCaFaction stiffened up CT model with two sheets of Titanal and rubber dampening over edges. Can’t remember if it was all models or just like 2
tried uploading from mobile... unsuccessfully. Check out @KeithShipman on IG, all white on white blend?? Not sure if it was a proto from last year for the new ski, or if it’s a 21/22...

that is a special edition blend that was released for this winter
9tryAnyone? have any info on atomic, line, or faction?

9tryThey did that too the 1.0 and 2.0
The 2020/21 Candide 1.0 and 2.0 have gotten stiffer and quite a bit heavier this year. On just the 1.0 and 2.0 they added a single titanal sheet above the edges underfoot along with rubber to help strengthen them for rail abuse along with additional rubber dampening tip/tail. Very damp and solid skis now.
What the extra titanal sheet looks like on my 2021 2.0.
The 2020/21 Candide 3.0 changed to a heavier wood core this year(changed last year to a wider 112mm underfoot) but shape and flex is similar to last year. Gained 200 grams vs last year so it should have better suspension than last year. The 4.0 is gone and the 2020/21 5.0 got a different wood core but weight didn’t seem to change much.

This is accurate. The 5.0 will be virtually the same, slightly new core due to material sourcing. 3.0 goes to an all poplar core to avoid delams, first year being made by Fischer didn’t go so well with the balsa/ polar core. A little bit heavier, but hopefully fewer skis breaking.
CT 1 and 2 are now ruined and a waste of time, and money

3.0 last year was fucking awesome, this years is eh. I liked the lighter weight. 1.0 and 2.0 I can agree are also not nearly as fun as they used to be.

Any of you guys try the 3.0 at different mount points? I was think -1.5 from the candide line.

I rode mine on the line but also tried it bumped forward around -2 from center. Had a pretty big sweet spot so it wasn’t a huge difference tbh. New one is around the same, would imagine it skis similarly. Back further behind the Candide line you can probably push it harder
Ive been able to look at the the sender squad, it just looks like its made for someone who wanna go fast on a big mountain, not sure on the fun part, but looks chargy/damp as hell
BO 110? yes please
m-free 99.. aka a new dynastar menace 98? hope they bring back the awesome 2020 topsheets, the 2021 m-free I have vs 2021 menace 98 and proto factory.. mehhhhh :|
