and there are so many more comps too that pay out just as much if not more. even the rail jam at vegas payed out fatter than any ski comp.

I've seen couples of comps with prize money up to 100 000 for the winner

yeah last year there was a big air comp that was 100 000$, and a the guy that won did a back side 180 with like 3 shiftys. thats pretty sweet

it sucks but skiing just cant come close to the marketablility of snowboarding...the TOP skiers in the world still make crap compared to the top boarders...

wasnt that 100 000 comp the one in japan...meaning that would be yen..meaning its approximatley $10 000 american....i got 3rd in this pipe comp in japan and the check was for 30 000...but it was only about 300 american and it got stolen anyways!
