outerwear design ideas

Anyone have ideas here for park specific outerwear? Ideas for function and ideas for style, color and other ideas would be appreciated. Please don't mention things that have already been done and re-done like fur lined hoods.

if youre going to start a company at least design your own stuff. getting ideas from a message board is stupid. kids will tell you to make shit thats hot now and when next year rolls around and youve got everything made, trends will have passed and youll be stuck with last years played out shit.

whatever dude. I asked Turpin one time and he mentioned making edge guards for your pants that were made of tin coffee cans fastened to your inner pant ankle with bent nails.... gritty,man. We're not going to do that... but good ideas come from all sorts of places. There are plenty of skiers here on this site that care about park skiing and care about the clothes. Why not try to tap this resource?

inner leg vents (the ones on the outside get snow in um really easy), and the MUST be mesh lined. very vivid graphical prints used in small quantities ( like in the hood, in the pockets, liner, ect. Checkered shit (black and white) is gonna be hot next year. heels of pants, they ned to curve upwards so you can still sag without walking all over them and chicking your pants into your bindings, clear vinyl sided hoods, like orage, auidio pockets on the outside of the jacket, passthrough port, and possibly asymetrical color schemes.

i just got a new pair of quicksilver boardshorts that are a white base with neon pink, green and blue graphics, its sort of weird faces and bones and shit, i think it would be a cool pattern for a coat.

word mink one piece. its so hot right now. also, i have a sweater with interwoven diamond things on it, im not sure what the pattern is called, but that would be hot on a coat, in like grey baby pink and black. argyle hood liners, or side panels, or pockets would be cool too.

ok fine heres my input. ORNAMENTAL ZIPPERS!
but seriously, put some velcro or a snap or something on it so the hood doesnt flap around.
make some sort of hard case pocket for homies with cell phones and shit. oh and insolated so the battery doesnt die as quick.
a pass pocket on a sleeve would be cool. just flip open a flap and theres your pass, ready to be checked.

-insulated pocket for mp3/whatever player that doesn't add too much bulk to the coat.
-bibs on snowpants, those are TOTALLY hot again.
-plamo (plaid/camo)
-argyle
-really earthy tones with neon piping
-flap over zippers, taped seams
-pockets that open by zipping down, not up, and don't make you look pregnant when they are full of stuff (good luck figuring out how to do that)
-waterproof zippers
-big hoods that don't look gay when pulled up
-fun prints for the lining

I don't know if they make these or not, but a cross between mitts and gloves, i know they make them with just one figer and three others, but your index is kinda fucked for getting cold there, so what about making them so they split between the middle finger and ring finger? then you can still grab and stuff, while keepin ur fingers warm. I know my fingers get cold all the time, cuz i have the world's worst circulation. Like I said, I don't know if there is such a thing, but they'd be cool.

It was mandatory that we stoped in a skate shop in Tokyo so Bibby could by a sweatshirt. He also bought neck chains one with a Cadillac logo and the other one a cross. He was looking real ghetto until he saw two black people and removed them automatically because he was scared to get beat up.

people who have worn predator can vouch for the merit of our products. Most customers of ours return to buy it time and time again. We cannot afford to throw the kind of money at park skiers that Oakley and Orage, much older and larger companies can, but we hope to support park skiers more and more as we continue to grow. I don't think you would be complaining if you were wearing our clothes, or if you were representing us.
Furthermore, the people who own this company; myself and Scott Fitzmorris are not only mogul skiers, but freeskiers as well (see my shots). And although I have broken my femur and disclocated my hip, my heart is still in the game and I throw down when conditions are right. Scott finished 4th in dual moguls at US Nationals and has a sick misty, loop and other tricks...That makes us more core than a bunch of office-bound middle-agers who throw cash at park skiers to rep their schwag, IMO.

I really would like to see an all denim set up... i know it has been done by other people, but I really like it. A

Also, leg vents on the INSIDE of the leg that start by the calf and go up to the crotch are a must... we all know that nuts produce a lot of heat.

How bout an all courduroy set up? that could be cool. Leather?

Random artsy designs like the white trees on the black Volcom set up this year.

Why not tap this resource for ideas? Well first off, you didn't even ask the people that run this site (myself, Mr.Bishop, Kamikaze, NoPoles, etc.) if you could do some market research.

You see, we work with companies in the newschool market like Orage, Siver, Ninthward, Liberty, W/B, etc. that have the respect and the business sense to come to us and work with us rather than just poaching our forums for ideas. When companies work WITH us (as opposed to using us) we can grow and actually help the sport and the community.

Anyhow I think I'll just let this thread slide but I'll add my personal opinion just for shits and giggles:

'4th in dual moguls at US Nationals and has a sick misty' - please don't claim shit like this and then expect people to think you're core. Dual moguls with misty flips is the definition of what is NOT core.

I'm not sure if you're aware but the newschool market is a little different from the tradition mogul and racer based sports that you seem to be stuck in. If you guys want to be remotely accepted by skiers in this scene you need to realize what this sport needs and wants. And it certainly isn't more tight bump pants.

Wait, I had another burst of ideas...
I have 686 smarty pants, and the back rises up higher, so that when you sag and sit down in the snow, you don't get a crack full of coldness... not so much an issue for skiers, but I really really like the feature. High backed pants are rad.

I like how Mission 6 has put large pieces of leather on their clothing.. basically, look at snowboard clothing... it is 100% sicker than any ski clothes...Orage included.

This is one where snowboarders have their shit dialed. Clean lines, well cut outerwear. Baggy but still funtional. Good waterproof/breathability ratings. plenty of pockets. Good hood is a must. Big funtional Zippers. Media pocket accesible w/o unzipping your jacket (inside flap but not inside jacket). well design cuffs. Nice fleece on chin area.
