i heard today that it was 4 ribs and he broke them after he landed idk if he also broke his heel but that is the real shit

OK so lets straighten this out.

Levin says he broke one ankle.
TGR eyewitness account says he broke at least one.
And Alta patrol report says he broke 1.

So no more of this both ankles broke business.

there is a lot of truth behind the snowblade theory. also, switch on chad's gap is absolutely insane. people don't realize how big a 120 foot gap really is, and how crazy taking off at 53 miles an hour is, let alone 53 miles an hour switch. props to tanner and jon for stepping it up to an unbelievable level. a few years ago, the only thing separating the elite pros from the average skier was an extra rotation or grab on a standard sized jump or halfpipe, now the elite pros are truly elite, hitting jumps of epic proportion, and doing some of the most difficult tricks in the business over the chasm. skiing is reaching unbelievable levels.

I am sorry to rapport that Tanner have broken both ankles.

He landed short on a switch 9 on chads gap. he did thoe get a nice switch 5 and a sick switch 9 before he crashed, its a shame but we blew up the kick into bits and so i didnt get to do much.
He will operate in a week when the swollen have gone down, he will be back on skis in about 8-10 weeks if everything works out fine....

Now this is Jons words.. U dont have to belive it.. but this is as much proof as i will never need.. And.. oowh.. my english isnt perfect so dont complain about the translation

that really sucks. for some reason i've always thought of tanner as like the superman of skiing. you rarely hear of him getting hurt, let alone this. hope he makes a full recovery.

actually tanner never steped up to darron's challenge... the dates have come and gone with no tanner at the races...

that sucks that tanner got hurt... but if he really broke both ankles or whatever, its only going to take 8-10 weeks recovery?? i find that hard to believe because after i hurt my foot it took like 6 weeks before i could even try to put it in a ski boot... and that was just a hella bad bruise, not a break. i would be impressed if tanner got back out after only 8 weeks

Imagine taking off a massive kicker going backwards at 55mp/h on twintips (close to 100 km/h). That is utterly insane. Even bombing groomed/hardpack runs at 60mp/h on GS race skis going forwards is intense. I don't think many people realize how much balls it takes for Tanner to try a move like that, the balance/athleticism involved is amazing.

No good, I rarely remember seeing him fall, let alone get hurt. As much as I think his image is wrong for the way the media views freestyle skiing, it sucks he got hurt.
