.flac for mac?

yes...

if you don't have developer tools installed to compile the flac application, get fink, install it, and install the flac package. once that's on there, go into the command line, go to the directory and do

flac -x filename

or a script for the directory would be

for i in *.flac; do flac -x '$i'; done;

using bash that is. then, they'll be in wav and if you want you can convert them to mp3 through itunes, lame, etc.

it took me maybe 10 min to setup on my machine, but now i crank through flacs->mp3 like no other. i sorta say screw the people who say please don't encode my flacs to mp3. just don't distribute them instead...big ass flacs are a pain in the ass, esp. since they're so damn uncompressed.
